<description>A person trying to choose a wheelchair should really consult a trusted local provider though first. This provider should be certified ATS. If not, you may not be getting the best advice. This provider is required by certification to stay up on the latest and greatest and can help you rule out the wrong chair. Perhaps power is for you but maybe not. Providers make much more money off power wheelchairs and may get tunnel vision. Be educated on wheelchairs and your condition.
Some people may want manual but think its automatically not for them. Those people might try looking at a Power assist manual wheelchair like the new version by NEXT or another version. These power assist are manual wheelchairs that have a power assist function when they are propelled normally. They can be particularly useful for low level quads and MS patients.
